Use FTPS instead of plain FTP so credentials are encrypted in transit.
Steps
- In Plesk, open Websites & Domains, then the FTP access area for the domain.
- Note the FTP username and set a strong password if needed.
- In your FTP client, enter the server address supplied for the hosting service.
- Choose explicit FTP over TLS, also called explicit FTPS.
- Use passive mode and connect.
- Upload public website files to the domain's document root, commonly httpdocs.
If the certificate name or server address is rejected, stop and ask support for the correct hostname. Do not disable certificate checks as a permanent fix.
